To finish our year, we had a parent’s day concert in Korea in the senior center we served in for the year. Because parent’s day is one of the biggest holidays in Korea since we are honoring our parents, we decided to present them with the songs that were familiar to them and ones they loved. We gathered everyone together in our organization and headed to the center to play the playlist.
It was ten songs that were most enjoyed by the elders in the center and we split up into four groups to play songs. Last two songs were played by the full group, which was cramped since the space was small for us to barely fit in.
Although the concert itself may have been chaotic, it was a great memory and experience for me and the members, learning how to collaborate, prepare, and dedicate ourselves to utilizing the talents that we have to have a positive impact in a small part of the community.
