To truly uplift our purpose and goal, we decided to hold a benefit concert with the school concert. We opened up an hour before, having around ten people playing different kind of musics from pop to a band music to classicals.
The process to hold this concert was very difficult since there was a lot of events in school that it was hard to find the right time to hold the concert. The original date for the concert was also advised to change to another date since it was matched up with two school hosting events. After working with the admins and the music department teachers, I was finally able to implement the benefit concert outside.
Through the performance, we encouraged the audience and the musicians to donate money to raise funds for Heart-Heart Organization, an organization that uses money for the music therapy program they have with younger kids.
In total, we earned 280,000 won ($300), after collecting funds from a lot of teachers and few students. Considering that it was the first concert, it was successful, teaching me a lot of lessons and collaboration skills to carry this out.
