The American Dream

Two choices and one goal

Both of them hard and rough

Future in the sake of

This small choice was made up

In a small split of a second

The majestic brick building

Like a medieval castle

In front of me, looming over my head

Showing me the process of future

The future of my career

Hearing the loud chatters

Along the hallway

Friendly faces brighten up

Others face down, studying

American-style classes and electives

No glasses—blurry, can’t see—

No pen—cannot write

The next day, made sure I had both

Even though the future is

Unclear of what will happen

Sat on a table

Grabbed a pencil and wrote

And solved and scheduled

My future plan for the sake

Of myself to delight our family
