The ball was in the air in the middle of the court. Someone has to get that ball. But the momentum didn’t allow our bodies to push forward and save it. It was our conference game.

We started at low. We weren’t the best on the team. In fact, we were at the bottom of the red division volleyball hierarchy. However, we had a weird feeling but a good one, this season. We had a lot of freshmen and sophomores, which made us interact more and become intimately closer as we practiced and hung out. However, there were some challenges that put us into times of troubles. We had arguments with each other about some matters.

This year I’ve started out as a setter. Because of SAT, I had to miss our friendly games in the Korean Classics, but after that, I started out as a setter. However, after my first horrible game, our captain talked to me if I actually want to do setter, or do another position. However, we sticked to being a setter, but after few games, the coach made a sudden change to me becoming Opposite or Right. It was a big change since opposite was more of an attacker, so I was very doubtful at first. However, this season, I was able to grow as a defense opposite rather than an attacker opposite. I was able to grow more in defense mechanisms and skills; however, due to a conflict with the coach and the libero, I had to swap in as libero for our tournament. So, to sum it all up, I was playing three positions this year, mainly setter and opposite.

This year, it was the best conference score we had. In Red Division, we were 5th place out of 6th. It may sound like we didn’t do well, but for our girls volleyball history, the placement was the best we did in the Red Division. However, we didn’t do well on the tournament, personally, we got 4th out of 9 teams, but mainly, I noticed that all of the teams did their best and got better.

Overall, we had tears and laughters, and prayers, but I think many of the athletes in our team got to learn what teamwork is. It was a season that triggered our laughters, breaked down in sorrows, and were proud at our growth and achievements.
